This testing is for students who need to complete the following placement exams that are only offered on campus in a paper format: Music Theory, Latin, Russian, and Portuguese.

9:30 a.m. – 10:20 a.m. PittStart Check-In & Icebreakers
You can officially check in for your PittStart session at this time. If you do not have a smartphone to utilize the Guidebook App, you can pick up a hard copy of the finalized agenda and other important materials here. Then join Pitt Pathfinders and your new classmates for games and fun!

In this small group advising session, academic advisors will discuss "The Transition to the University," important advising information, and assign the individual advising appointment.

Grab a bite to eat at one of the many on or off-campus eateries with the complimentary $8 on your Panther Card (University ID). Eat with the Pathfinders or venture on your own. Restaurant options are available in the Guidebook App.
1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. University Resource Fair
Stop in and talk with representatives from various University departments.
1:30 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. Individual Advising Appointments (For students only)
Mandatory for Dietrich School students on either Day One or Day Two
Please note that individual appointments are ONLY assigned during the 11:30 a.m. Dietrich School Group Session and cannot be scheduled in advance.
1:30 p.m. - 4 p.m. Online Placement Exams and First-Year Online Orientation (For students only)
This is for students who need to complete online placement exams in Math, French, German, Italian & Spanish or the First-Year Online Orientation.
1:30 p.m. - 2:20 p.m. Eat, Sleep and be Panthers
Panther Central is the University’s concierge service provider and your go-to place for all the essentials of daily living on campus, from Pitt IDs and housing, to meal plans and transportation.
2:30 p.m. - 3:50 p.m. Managing Student Finances
Every student and parent needs to understand how to pay for college. Student Financial Services Staff and Financial Aid Counselors will share payment options, due dates, financial aid requirements, and financial literacy tips. All student attendees will have the opportunity to win a $500 Book Award for the University Store on Fifth!
4 p.m. - 4:50 p.m. Student Computing Essentials
Join members of the Pitt IT department to obtain helpful information on Campus Computing Labs, Internet connectivity, important websites (e.g. course listings and software downloads) and your student email/financial accounts.
5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Student Affairs: Life on Campus
In this entertaining presentation, you will meet your 2018 First Year Mentors as they act out everyday situations on college campuses. Break-out discussion sessions with the Mentors and University staff will follow the performances.
6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Student Dinner
Whether you are staying on campus for your PittStart session or commuting from home – come join your classmates and the Pitt Pathfinders for some food and fun!
7:30 p.m. - 10:15 p.m. Social Activities
The Pathfinders are planning activities and entertainment to help you make new friends and Pitt memories. More detailed information on the events, times, and locations will be available when you arrive on campus.
10:30 p.m. Curfew and Floor Meetings
If you are staying in the on-campus overnight accommodations, you will have a mandatory floor meeting with the Pathfinders at 10:30 p.m. Check signs around your building or ask a Pathfinder to find the location.

Become involved with research as early as your first year with the OUR. OUR supports creative endeavors, publishes an undergraduate magazine, and sponsors Field Studies programs. Pick up free t-shirts and magazines at the same time!

Meet with a representative of the School of Pharmacy to learn more details about preparing for this program.
10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Pre-Medicine Information Session (For students only)
If you are interested in becoming a medical doctor, dentist or veterinarian, this is a great opportunity to learn about appropriate course selection, how to succeed in the sciences and pre-med resources on campus.
11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Lunch on Your Own
