If you are attending the last PittStart of the summer and have received an on-campus housing assignment, you will be able to move in on Sunday, August 19. Visit the Arrival Survival website for move-in instructions.

Dietrich School Students

Day One PittStart activities are mandatory for all Dietrich School Students. Check-In begins at 9:30 a.m. on August 20. You will have access to move into your residence hall between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on August 19. Check the August 20-21 finalized PittStart agenda, which will be available on the Guidebook app closer to the PittStart session, for more details.

All Other Academic Schools and Colleges

Students who are in the Swanson School of Engineering, College of Business Administration, and School of Nursing are not required to attend Day One PittStart activities, however we strongly encourage you to do so. Your mandatory PittStart academic programming begins at 8 a.m. on Day Two, Tuesday, August 21. Students may start moving into their residence hall as early as 1 p.m. on August 19. Check the August 20-21 finalized agenda, which will be available on the Guidebook app closer to the PittStart session, for more details.

Food Services

Your student meal plan will begin on Monday, August 20. Several university dining locations will be open when you arrive on campus. For all dining hours, you may reference your Arrival Survival booklet. All students attending the August 20-21 PittStart will also get $8 in Panther Funds on their Panther Card to grab a meal or snack.

Panther Central

For 24/7 assistance with move-in, housing, food services, and your Panther Card (student ID), please contact Panther Central. They are located in the lobby of Litchfield Towers and Sutherland Hall. You can contact them at 412-648-1100 or pc@pc.pitt.edu.

Your Panther Card (Pitt ID) is the one tool that every student needs to have on their first day. Submit your photo to Panther Central in advance and they’ll prepare your Pitt ID for you! Online photo submission is quick and easy; IDs are typically processed in one day. To receive a preprinted ID upon your arrival, you must submit your photo at least one full business day prior to your move-in date!

Parking in Oakland

Parents please note: if you are staying in a local hotel please use the hotel shuttle services to get to campus. Parking in Oakland may be difficult the week of August 20 due to the number of students moving into residence halls.
